Boston-based math-rock collective, Lynx, have announced reissue details of their seminal self-titled debut LP.
Consisting of guitarists Mike Hutchins and Dave Konopka (formerly of Battles), bassist Paul Joyce, and drummer Dale Connolly, Lynx was originally released in 2000 exclusively on CD, and is now being reissued for the first time in both vinyl and digital formats.
This deluxe edition is augmented by a second vinyl, entitled Human Speech – an EP featuring three unreleased tracks recorded in 2021 but composed more than 20 years ago.
The entire collection will be released on May 5 via Computer Students™ as a part of their Expanded Reissues series. Although both records are physically packaged together, Lynx and Human Speech will be released separately digitally.
The self title track from the Human Speech EP is set for release on Friday – exclusive to Sun 13, you can you listen for the first time below.
Written over 20 years ago and kept secret for all those years, Human Speech was finally recorded in the summer of 2021 by Seth Manchester (BIG BRAVE, Lingua Ignota , Kal Marks et al) at Machine with Magnets studios. The alliance is a match made in heaven, picking up where the band left off during Lynx.
Lynx / Human Speech is out May 5 via Computer Students™. Pre-order here.
