Track Premiere: Less Bells’ ‘Drowned Ground’

The Mojave duo release the final single from their forthcoming album.

Less Bells, the project featuring Julie Carpenter (Eels, Spiritualized), and Dain Luscombe (Marjorie Fair, Bell Gardens), have announced the final single from their forthcoming album, The Drowned Ground, which is set for release on June 16 via Kenneth James Gibsons label, Meadows Heavy Recorders.

Drowned Ground is the latest single taken from the album, and follows the track, A Failure Of Horses, which was released at the backend of last year.

Following the same path as A Failure Of Horses, Drowned Ground is saturated in orchestral splendour and elusive drones, evoking the imagery of a fantastical outer-world. It may just be the most beautiful composition Less Bells have released so far.

Ahead of its release tomorrow, exclusive to Sun 13, be the first to listen to Drowned Ground below.

The Drowned Ground is the third album from the Mojave duo, and follows the excellent 2020 release, Mourning Jewelry (Kranky).

Stay tuned for an interview with Less Bells in the coming months.

The Drowned Ground is out on June 16 via Meadows Heavy Recorders. For more info, visit the label Bandcamp page.
