Liverpool’s Africa Oyé have announced a hip-hop showcase at the Philharmonic Music Room on Thursday, February 3.
The event is in collaboration with Liverpool’s No Fakin‘ and the L100 Cypher, who have handpicked the city’s finest young MCs, with the aim to explore the depths of hip-hop.
Headlining the event will be Liverpool’s MC Nelson, who has featured on Sun 13 back in 2020 with his single, People’s Republic of Liverpool.
Rounding off the night’s bill will be Philly D and DJ 2Kind, alongside the aforementioned L100 Cypher and No Fakin’ DJs.
Jake Rosh interview: “having a purpose and a message is key to standing out”
Commenting on the event, Africa Oyé Artistic Director, Paul Duhaney says:
“Our ethos at the festival with our ‘Oyé Introduces’ programme has always been about giving local artists the chance the shine and share the stage with international artists. I’m delighted that we’re now able to do that outside of the festival by featuring the L100 Cypher alongside ‘Introduces’ alumni, Nelson; it’s going to be an inspiring night for our city’s young talent in a fantastic venue.”
Tickets are on sale now via the Philharmonic website here.
