Miles Temp: Before You

‘Before You’ sounds to these ears like an introspective anthem in waiting.

Things are moving for Sun 13 favourite Miles Temp. The singer/ songwriter has recently signed to Ripe Records and the first fruit of this is new single Before You, released on April 25, along with a run of live dates.

Before You finds Miles again in reflective mood, with his distinctive falsetto to the fore. His voice is well suited to contemplative and even melancholic songs. The song starts features a simple beat and bass line, allowing Miles’ vocals to take centre stage, as they should. Some neat harmonies underline this, Miles himself is the star of the show here.

Some catchy electronic flourishes bubble away in the background, providing a buoyant feel and lifting the song from being as straightforward as it might first appear. Hints of Radiohead float to the surface occasionally, and Before You sounds to these ears like an introspective anthem in waiting.
