French label, Osto Records, have quickly grown a reputation as the purveyors of left field sonics, and they unveil another slab of beauty with their latest signees, Be Hyde.
Like their music, information on Chalon-sur-Saone three-piece is rather scarce and obscure, however at the back end of 2023, the trio performed live in the home of Osto Records founder, Mickael Pillisio.
With cities around the world being over-run by development companies and snotty residents complaining about noise (what do you expect?), house shows are not only becoming the norm for many outlier communities, but also act as the last line of defense for underground music.
Be Hyde give us another example of this with a stirring performance of their song, Drifting Souls, and exclusive to Sun 13, be the first to watch below.
Said to be a “a three-headed hydra immersed in the meanders of an ambient and inhabited electronic folk-rock, music from the… inner world,” Be Hyde echo recent memories of fellow French outfit, Nante’s Astrïd, both producing subtle inflections of the interesting side to post-rock.
The sound recording and mixing for Drifting Souls was done by Sébastien (La Fraise) Guichard via Piedmain Films.
Fresh into the new year, there will be more to come from Be Hyde, so for those who like what they hear, stay tuned.
