Track Premiere: Wade Easy’s Hot Honey

The song is the lead track from the songwriter’s second LP of 2026.

In Wade Easy’s world, there’s no rest for the wicked.

Shortly after the release of his excellent sophomore LP, Sea of Night, which dropped earlier this year, the Morgantown, West Virginia-based songwriter is seemingly making up for lost time with Hot Honey. The lead track from his second LP in 2026, Honey Venom, which is set for release on October 2.

Ahead of Hot Honey’s official release tomorrow, exclusive to Sun 13, be the first to listen below.

As we learned earlier this year with our Sea of Night interview, Easy is a man of few words. Sharing his thoughts about Hot Honey, Easy says the song was inspired by “Three days with a lover. And nowhere to be.” Again, for the most part, he lets his music do the talking.

Following the shadowy Sea of Night, Hot Honey sees Easy cutting through the darkness with rattles, drones, twangs and minimal percussion. Since Easy’s 2025 debut LP, Sleeping with the Sun On, listening to his music has been like a shotgun wedding. A songwriter of this magnitude writing these kind of songs, almost like a gift from gods. And based on the strength of Hot Honey, it’s not outlandish to suggest it’s his best song yet.

Which makes the anticipation for Honey Venom all the more feverish. With a title like it, it might kill you, but equally it might just be worth it.

Honey Venom is out October 2. Pre-order from Bandcamp.
