Liverpool’s leading independent music and arts venues, QUARRY, has announced details of its relocation from its originally established Love Lane site.
Champions of underground DIY culture from Merseyside and beyond, QUARRY confirms 45 Hardman Street as its new location, the former home of the legendary Liverpool venues, Magnet and the Sink Club.
Following the closure of its original premises in May, the move marks an exciting new chapter for the QUARRY team, who now look to expand their programming, enhancing live music offerings, while continuing to support local artists, both established and from the grassroots.
With a purpose-built basement ideal for live performances and multiple rooms allowing for a dedicated bar and event space, the new location retains the spirit of QUARRY while significantly expanding its potential.
“We recognise that this iconic site is steeped in history,” the team says in a joint statement. “We aim to acknowledge what has come before us while also adding something new. Namely, a 250-cap community-focused music venue with high-quality sonics and a forward-thinking programme. This is a grassroots project through and through, with musicians, artists and creatives coming together and doing the work to create a space for everyone to enjoy.”

“It has been a long road to get here, one filled with uncertainty, and we couldn’t have got here without the support of the QUARRY community,” says the team, thankful for the continued and unwavering support. “As we have said many times before, what has made QUARRY so special are the creative communities, artists, and audiences that have made it home over the past five years.”
The Hardman Street venue is expected to open in Autumn 2025. For updates and information follow the venue on Instagram and visit their website. QUARRY’s fundraiser for the project can also be found here.
