Following a string of singles released this year, Liverpool’s Mondo Trasho return with their latest cut, Sad and Blue.
Ahead of tomorrow’s official release, exclusive to Sun 13, be the first to listen to the track below.
Mondo Trasho were founded by Jay Muat (vocals, guitar) and Chris “Moz” Green (Hammond organ), with the pair were then joined by Luke Hamilton (bass), Dan Mayers (guitar) and Greg Michell (drums).
Prior to their 2024 output, Mondo Trasho released a trilogy of EPs in 2021, That’s Trash, More Trash, and Pure Trash, and singles Hard Times (That’s Life) (2022) and Sands of Time (2023).
Recorded with long-time collaborators Jamie Lindberg and Andy Fernihough at Box music studio, Sad and Blue sees Mondo Trash mixing Morricone-tinged spaghetti western psychedelia with the melodic echoes of the Byrds. It’s been another consistent year for the Liverpool five-piece, and following singles Morning Tide, Strangers and Night Terrors, Sad and Blue is arguably the best of an already good bunch.
