Video Premiere: Axis: Sova’s ‘I’m A Ghost’

Be the first to watch the video to the band’s new single – taken from their forthcoming album, ‘Blinded by Oblivion’.

Today, Chicago’s Axis: Sova release the latest single from their forthcoming album, Blinded By Oblivion, which is set for release on October 6 via Ty Segall’s GOD? Records imprint via Drag City.

I’m A Ghost is the new single taken from the record, and exclusive to Sun 13, be the first to watch the video for the track below.

Blinded By Oblivion was also produced by Segall, and on their fourth long-player, Axis: Sova continues to explore traditional post-hardcore and garage rock riff-a-rolla with a T. Rex-inspired glam-rock flavour.

I’m A Ghost is the only song from Blinded by Oblivion written entirely in session at Harmonizer Studios with guitars plugged directly into the board, auxiliary drums programmed on the spot, and predominantly improvised lyrics, spontaneity oozes from its grimy depths.

Speaking of I’m A Ghost, Axis: Sovia’s Brett Sova vocalist/guitarist says, “The ghost in the song has dual meaning – one is traditional, as in being haunted by (a person, or past experiences, etc), while the other refers to feeling absent in the moment and being so acutely affected or overwhelmed by anxiety as to dissociate, even if the physical body remains ‘present’”.

The video was made by frequent band collaborator, Krzys Poitrowski, and stars dancer, Kristina Isabelle.

Axis: Sova are on tour in the US this October alongside fellow scuzz merchants, Segall and Oog Bogo.
