Los Angeles is fast becoming a hotbed for fascinating DIY music. The latest act, Expose, who recently signed to Quindi Records (also home of fellow L.A. bands, Bondo and Monde UFO).
With their debut album, ETC, set for release via Quindi on January 24, Expose release their third single from it, Reverse 3.
Ahead of tomorrow’s official release, exclusive to Sun 13, be the first to listen to Reverse 3 below.
Formed in 2019, Expose’s latest guise is Trent Rivas (drums), Jeff Stephens (guitar), James Novick (synths), brothers Jake (bass) and Riley Getz (guitar). A smorgasbord of sludge-laden free-jazz and post-hardcore, Expose have been described by Max Nordile (Preening, Debt Rag) as “hardcore falling down a mountain”.
And Reverse 3 continues this. Like a lost track from Unwound’s Repetition, Expose produce something of a noise-rock blur inspired by a weekend of binging on Sun Ra.
