Following their 2025 singles So Far and Sparrow, Melbourne alt-country band, Roller One, have announced that their new album, Fate Done Nice, will be released on April 17 via Cheersquad Records & Tapes.
Along with this announcement, tomorrow the band will officially release their new single, Motorsports, which exclusive to Sun 13, you can listen to for the first time below.
With Bill Callahan’s My Days of 58 set for release at the end of the month, Motorsport is a worthy curtain-raiser for it. Between meditating in brick yards and dreaming of the wrong dreams, vocalist / guitarist, Fergus McAlpin, spearheads a band presenting alt-country in subtlety new, abstract ways.
“The song is a moment of fatigued reflection backdropped by a distant view of the city lights before having to return back into chaos,” explains, McAlpin, who for Fate Done Nice is joined by Adam Afiff (double bass) who reunite with their ex-Silver City Highway band mates Simon Edwards (drums) and Nick Hurle (pianos), with additional contributions from vocalist, Georgia Knight, and guitarist, Cahill Kelly.
