Track Premiere: Spell Trouble’s ‘Thorn Armor’

Be the first to the Berlin-based artist’s new single.

Under the Spell Trouble alias, Berlin-based musician, Maximilan Seifert, releases his new single, Thorn Armor.

Ahead of its official release this Friday via Swiss label, Irascible, exclusive to Sun 13, be the first to listen below.

Talking about Thorn Armor in the lead up to its release, Seifert says:

Thorn Armor is about running away and suppressing our feelings: we run away from problems into a personal safe space, a hideout from reality and pain. The walls that we build up (‘walls of flesh, fortress solitude’) as a result get bigger and bigger and ultimately make it impossible for the people around us to approach us. Through self-reflection and a confrontation with our inner demons, we can find a way out. Otherwise, we hide deeper and deeper in our Thorn Armors.”

Having grown up in the East German metal scene of the late 2000s, Seifert moved to Berlin a few years later. Under the alias of Spell Trouble, he now combines the best of both worlds.

Thorn Armor is out Friday via Irascible. Pre-save here.
