Today, Chicago veterans, Bronze, release the video for their track, Jewelry Is Magic. Following its digital release last week, exclusive to Sun 13, be the first to watch the video below.
Consisting of Dylan Ryan, Scott McGaughey and Nic Johns, the members the members of Bronze having played in various bands, including The Motels, Cursive, Red Krayola and Man Man.
Ryan and McGaughey first met as teenagers at DePaul University in Chicago after a Ruins show, and while the ensuing years were stop-start, the band released their debut album, Calypso Shakedown, in 2008.
A melodic, infectious pop serenade, Jewelry Is Magic is the first piece of music released since, and speaking of the song, Ryan comments:
“Regarding the track, it has been kicking around in a live-only, unrecorded version for a few years and was finally finished in large part thanks to Britt Daniel of Spoon who, after hearing it live, encouraged us to finish it and release it.
“We have always thought of this song as a soundtrack to someone getting prepped for a great night out. Something Richard Gere would have been listening to in American Gigolo while he chooses the right tie.”
