Groundskeeping was one of two excellent 2022 releases from experimentalist, Kenneth James Gibson, and this Friday he readies the release of the remix album from tracks taken from the LP, Further Translations.
Featuring Ghostly International mainstay Christopher Willits, the late Brian McBride, Jack Dangers, Awakened Souls, Less Bells, Chuck Johnson, Konstantin Gabbro, and Gibson himself, Further Translations sees Gibson’s compositions from Groundskeeping take on whole new meanings.
Ahead of Friday’s release of Further Translations via Meadows Heavy Records, exclusive to Sun 13, be the first to watch the video for the Willits rework of Poured Semi Silently Upon You.
Speaking of the track, Willits offers comment:
“This remix emerged through listening and playing guitar over the original piece. Once it set in, I let the music drift wherever it needed to go. The chords began to open up in a different way and the structure shifted; it became very emotional for me. What emerged feels like a journey, even some rite of passage; an ambiguous situation or belief transforms into a process of letting go and conclusion.”
Stay tuned for our review of Further Translations next week.
