An Insection is the British / Finnish duo of Ally Winford and Edward Trethowan.
Forming in 2008, An Insection self-released five EPs between 2009 and 2012, with the pair taking the next fourteen years to finally release their debut LP, To Flyover Missing – set for release on July 5 via Finland label, Bivalve Editions.
Exclusive to Sun 13, today An Insection share the latest single from To Flyover Missing, Dress Anxious, which you can listen to below.
An Insection - Dress AnxiousDress Anxious is a composition that echoes the kind of dread Massive Attack explored in their earliest manifestations, and colliding these ideas with core principles of shoegaze, it’s a song that evokes a wide array of colours.
Featuring appearances from Tobias Ewé and Michelle Hu, To Flyover Missing is the second entry in Bivalve Editions, a sub-series of non-split releases, of evocative of early 2000s UK shoegaze/ post-rock/ ambient/ trance, and on To Flyover Missing, An Insection combine all of these facets.
Speaking in the press release notes, Winford and Trethowan say that To Flyover Missing is “the result of years’ worth of incremental perspectival shift, both within and between songs, is a temporally removed mixture of naive prospection and jaded retrospection, all earnest at whatever points they found their way.”
To Flyover Missing is out July 5 via Bivalve Editions. Pre-order from Bandcamp.
