What do you get when members who have plied their trade in the likes of Sun Organ, Nyxy Nyx, Ugh God, Golden Apples and Bad History Month get together?
You get Assisted Living. Another glorious collective to surface from the Philly underground.
The band, consisting of vocalists/guitarists Shane Moore and Drew Saracco, bassist/vocalist Jesse Kennedy and drummer Dylan Larkin create a glorious racket born from a diet of Polvo, Duster and Mission of Burma, and it all comes out in the wash on their excellent debut album, Is Coming – out on October 4 via Philadelphian labels, BLIGHT. Records and Strange Mono.
Exclusive to Sun 13, be the first to listen to the band’s second single from Is Coming, Ghost of ’57.
Ghost of ’57 sees Assisted Living taking the vestiges of recent Sun Organ releases and twisting it into the sort of countrified proto-punk designed for road-trips. There’s a freedom to the track that’s born from a chemistry between band members, and it’s one of the many highlights throughout Is Coming – to these ears one of the most exciting debut albums of the year.
