Six Organs of Admittance, the long-running project of experimental guitarist, Ben Chasny, has announced details of his twenty-first album.
Time is Glass will be out on April 26 via Drag City, and will follow his latest collaborative release alongside U.K. guitarist Rick Tomlinson, Waves (Vox Records), which featured in our Top 50 Albums of 2023.
Today, Chasny shares the album’s lead single/video, The Mission, which you can watch/listen to below.
The music video was directed by Elisa Ambrogio (Magik Markers), which sews together scenes from California and Portugal into a patchwork of texture and tone.
Talking of the The Mission, Chasny explains: “A couple of years ago a good friend of mine was falling in love in a new country and the stories he told at the time were both beautiful and terrifying, sublime and on the edge. I wrote this song for him and his new partner after they had begun to figure out how to be together.”

Time is Glass tracklist:
- The Mission
- Hephaestus

- Pilar
- Theophany Song
- My Familiar
- Spinning In A River
